I have over five years experience working in the food & drink industry, and have worked with clients small and large across the world. Here are just a selection of the projects I have been involved in.
Clients I’ve worked with
Square Root

As Content & Social Media Manager for East London soft drinks brand Square Root, I was responsible for all digital communications including social media (strategy, implementation, content creation, copywriting), email marketing, and website maintenance. During my first six months in the role I helped manage the communications for a successful £570k+ equity crowdfunding campaign, wrote, designed, produced and launched a bi-annual magazine, and increased total social media followers by nearly 50%.
In April 2021, I was promoted to the role of Marketing Manager. In this position I am in charge of cultivating brand partnerships including collaboration drinks, social media competitions, influencer partnerships etc, as well as working with our Commercial Director to shape Square Root’s on and off-trade marketing strategy, and organising brand activations at festivals and other events.
Gipsy Hill Brewing Co
I worked full time as a Content & Communications Manager for Gipsy Hill Brewing Co between September 2019 and July 2020. In this role I was responsible for the curation of content across all social media and digital channels, as well as managing customer engagement, community growth, PR and media opportunities and running our online webshop.
I produced eye-catching and engaging content designed to promote and sell products, while keeping abreast of events and opportunities to increase their online and print media presence. Working with the Head of Marketing, I helped to conceptualise campaigns, events, label designs and merchandise that communicated their story and convey their brand values to consumers.
Honest Brew

While working as a freelance journalist and photographer, I wrote a regular beer review column for UK Beer website Honest Brew designed to promote their European Beer Offering.
Upon moving to New Zealand in September 2018, I revived this column to feature beers imported by The New Zealand Beer Collective. I also wrote an advertorial for Wellington’s Parrotdog Brewery to coincide with their visit to the UK for New Zealand Beer Month in February 2019.
16 Tun

While living in Auckland, New Zealand, I was commissioned by craft beer venue 16 Tun to produce a series of images for use on their social media and website. I also worked at the venue running their events calendar and social media profiles.
The Morning Advertiser

As Food & Drink reporter for the fortnightly pub trade publication The Morning Advertiser, my key responsibilities included writing news stories & features, filming and editing videos, recording and editing podcasts, using social media to break stories and find off diary stories.
During my time on the title, I accrued more page views than any other author. My work on the brand also helped me gain national recognition as Best Young Beer Writer at the Guild of Beer Writers’ Awards in 2017. I also won a Silver Medal in the Best Beer Writer – Trade Media Category in the same Awards in 2018.
In September 2017, I spearheaded the magazine’s coverage of The Cask Report, compiling a 2,000 word analysis piece for the print magazine and two news stories for the website. In May 2018 I wrote a story on the link between alcohol and mental health which generated over 45,000 page views (more than any other story on The Morning Advertiser in the last year) and helped secure a record breaking 200,000 page views for the site for the month.
As part of my role I was also a judge for the Beer & Cider Marketing Awards, The Great British Pub Awards and The Publican Awards, throwing myself into these roles to make valuable contacts and expanding my industry knowledge.
The Beer & Cider Academy

As part of a drive to increase sign-ups for The Beer & Cider Academy’s courses, I was commissioned by the IBD to undertake and write up a series of interviews with educators who had taken their Beer Sommelier qualification. These were published on The Beer & Cider Academy website in July 2018.
